The Central Ohio Nutrition Center (CONCI) Celebrates Its 33rd YearPosted: Mar 07 in Weight Loss Tips tagged CONCI News by Staff
Time passes fast! Thirty-three years ago, March 5, 1979, the Central Ohio Nutrition Center opened its doors to treat people with obesity and its associated conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, etc. CONCI was conceived by Dr. Harry Shaver, a family practice physician, motivator, and visionary. He saw the benefit and excellent results of the OPTIFAST program. He aggressively attacked obesity with OPTIFAST, exercise, behavior modification, and sometimes medication. Under his tutelage, five individuals, Drs. Judy Loper, Richard Lutes, Robert May, Tom Broyles, and Edward Baltes became passionate about this type of comprehensive weight management program. Unfortunately, Dr. Shaver passed away at the young age of 49, but his vision remains an inspiring voice in the Central Ohio Nutrition Center today!
