Kristopher M: 106 lbs Lost
Kristopher M. is a 34 year old husband, father of four young children, and works as a Parks and Recreation Director. In January of 2014 he decided it was time to become a better example to his children and the community he serves by becoming a healthier person through weight loss.
Despite his young age, Kris was already dealing with the ramifications of carrying too much weight. His cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood pressure were at unhealthy levels. His love for basketball was being compromised by knee pain.
The OPTIFAST program appealed to Kris. He began the program in January 2014 and by early July 2014 lost 106 pounds, averaging a 4.6 pound loss per week. As is commonly the case with weight loss, his blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels returned to normal. His BMI (body mass index) dropped from 41 to 27. He lost 11 inches off his waist. Knee pain improved to the point where playing basketball and running became a pleasure again.
The overwhelming positive response from family as well as others was a motivational factor during weight loss. Kris regularly attended and was very impressed with the classes offered at CONCI’S Grove City office. He has learned that successfully maintaining a weight loss takes commitment, change in lifestyle, and regular exercise. It is his hope to pass on better habits to his children and community and to share with them the valuable information he has learned from CONCI’S registered dietitians.
