Sean G and Becca: 389 Pounds Lost

YOUNG COUPLE LOSES 389 POUNDS!

Sean G. welcomed his daughter into the world when he was heavier than he had ever been and when his health was nose-diving due to his weight. Getting uncomfortably close to 500 pounds, Sean was dealing with high blood pressure, sleep apnea, fatty liver, and gastric reflux. Not only was his weight affecting his health, it also caused him to struggle being the husband and father he wanted to be. Taking on both the role and responsibility of a first-time father, he knew a big change was necessary…and soon.

Sean’s wife Becca was also overweight. Becca’s motivation to lose weight went beyond wanting to see a lower number on a scale. When simply changing her daughter’s diaper left her winded, Becca realized she had neglected her health. She knew she had to lose weight in order to both improve her health and to be able to keep up with a busy toddler.

Another motivation to lose weight stemmed from Becca’s love of dance. She had been a tap dancer since age 2. No longer able to dance due to her weight, Becca yearned to get back to dancing and toalso be able to teach her daughter the art form she loved so much.

The young couple chose the OPTIFAST program because of its health-oriented approach. In 12 months Sean lost 261 pounds, 55% of his body weight, and reduced his body fat from 44% to 12%! BMI (Body Mass Index) decreased from 73 to 27! His waist size is 36 inches now instead of 75! His health is vastly improved.

In 8 months Becca lost 128 pounds, 42% of her body weight, and reduced her body fat from 41% to 27%. Her BMI dropped from 44 to 25 and pant size decreased from 26 to size 12! Her weight loss greatly improved her health, physically, mentally, and emotionally. She has resumed tap dancing classes and finds pure joy being back to doing what she loves.

Sean co-hosts a podcast called DROP THE NEEDLE with a couple of friends. The podcast’s theme is addiction/recovery. Although never addicted to drugs or alcohol himself, Sean has learned that his relationship with food was similarly unhealthy. His weight loss experience is allowing him to share his journey with a newfound perspective.

Life is good! Both Becca and Sean can easily chase their toddler daughter around the house and getting down on the floor to play with her is no longer a problem. The little everyday things that once were a burden are now effortless.
