SPLENDA, also known as sucralose, is a well- known zero calorie sweetener. When using it in recipes, it is important to know that the product in packets is not the same as granulated sucralose that can be purchased in larger quantities to be used in baking/cooking.
Each individual packet (which measures out to ¼ teaspoon) is equal to two teaspoons of sugar. Each teaspoon of granulated sucralose is equal to one teaspoon of sugar. Do your math when converting packets to granulated sucralose when a recipe calls for packets. For example, if a recipe calls for 4 packets, the granulated equivalent is 8 teaspoons. If the adjustment is not made, the end product will be overly sweet.
